NM Rotary inducted a new member on January 6. George Powdar is a recently retired executive whose family participated in Rotary's Youth Exchange program. Ashsley Powdar spent a school year in Spain and the Powdar's hosted a student from Brazil. George joined Rotary for its fellowship and community service role. George's sponsor is Dave Elmore. New Milford Rotary has gained several new members over the past year.
Rotary has donated and installed several projects around town in the past few years: an outdoor chess table, a Peace Pole at Town Hall, and Rotary Park at East Street and Bridge Street.
Each month Rotary recognizes a Student of the Month. Each HS department selects a student to be honored during the school year.
Rotary offers scholarships to graduating high school students each Spring.
In 2021 Rotary organized a distribution of masks during COVID.
