The Rotary Club of New Milford will again host ‘ROTARY Community Document Shredding Day on Saturday, Oct 7, 2017 in Lore’s Plaza parking lot on Route 7 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.
ShredFest, open to residents of all towns, provides consumers and businesses the opportunity to clean their homes and offices by securely shredding their confidential documents. The public is invited to bring boxes of documents, old papers, pay stubs, receipts, bank statements, invoices, cancelled checks, tax forms, medical records, credit card statements, old bills, etc. No need to remove staples or paper-clips. Drive up...and it’s shredded. It’s that easy! No limit to the number of boxes you can bring. Assistance will be available to help unload boxes.
The mobile document destruction process is efficient and quick and saves hours of home shredding. The shredded material goes to recycling mills to be made into paper products saving hundreds of trees.
The cost is only $10.00 per standard-size box. All money collected will be donated to the New Milford Rotary Club and will be used to support Rotary's local programs for seniors, school programs, student scholarships, environmental and other local projects. Last year, approximately 12,000 pounds of paper was collected and shredded that was recycled to make new paper products. This means that six tons of paper was kept out of the landfill and prevented approximately 135 trees from being cut down. For more information or if you have a large number of boxes call 860 350-2225.
